Chongqing Highway Logistics Base Continues to Expand: Economic Daily
In Chongqing Highway Logistics Base, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor cross-border trucking routes now cover the entire Indochina Peninsula, attracting over 80 leading trade and logistics companies to set up operations. Last year, the base received approval to establish a national logistics hub for trade services. Yang Min, General Manager of Chongqing Highway Logistics Base Construction Co., told reporters that the hub has developed a collaborative growth model across five industrial clusters: specialized markets, e-commerce, integrated logistics and international trade. Additionally, it has created an ASEAN Commodity Centralized Purchasing City covering 14,000 square meters, aimed at “gathering ASEAN products for national distribution and sourcing national products for ASEAN distribution.”
Chongqing continues to strengthen the collaborative and efficient coordination of multiple transportation channels, including the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, CRE trains, Yangtze River shipping and international air routes. The city is accelerating the construction of a multimodal container transportation demonstration project along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor to enhance international logistics efficiency. In the first eight months of this year, Chongqing transported 97,200 TEUs through combined logistics channels via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, CRE trains and the Yangtze River Golden Waterway, marking a YoY increase of 87%.
