Since the beginning of this year, both the railway and local authorities have actively worked to establish the "Chengdu–Greater Bay Area" rail-sea intermodal corridor, leveraging the capacities of the CRE train and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor to provide more efficient, cost-effective, stable and convenient logistics services. Additionally, with the support of Yantian Port and Hong Kong's shipping resources, the Chengdu international freight train's reach has extended to North America, Australia and other regions, helping local enterprises export quality products to global markets.
Rail-sea intermodal transportation is an efficient and consolidated logistics model that helps coastal cities expand their economic hinterland, enables inland areas to access sea routes, and reduces logistics costs for enterprises. Going forward, both the railway and local authorities will deepen cooperation with coastal ports, leverage the role of the Chengdu-Eurasia Corridor, build inland open service platforms, and take advantage of coastal port trade to promote the use of international freight trains by Chengdu and Hong Kong enterprises. This will help further optimize supply chain systems, expand international markets, and better support the high-quality development of foreign trade.
